Welcome, but after reading your post about not being a big fan of calling, some folks on here are going to have some things to say, myself included. I know we all have our ethics, and turkey "shoots" like that aren't part of mine. If you aren't going to call them in, to bring them in on their rules and go against their natural code of the gobbler waiting for hens to come to them, to challenge yourself in that aspect, and to hear them gobble and react to your calls, I see no point to hunt them for 8 pounds of meat. If I can't call them in, I won't shoot them.  But sounds like you call a little bit maybe. Good luck this spring.

Don't sell yourself short on the calling ... anyone can learn to be a good caller, it's just practice ... practice ... practice. As FishHunt stated it adds so much to the hunt ... I have them up close and personnel each year ... had their heads at my pocket ... had them fly out of the tree and land on my camo boots ... gobbling so close you could feel the breeze and smell what they had for breakfast (and there's lots of callers better than me)!  No offense is meant, but that's what really trips my trigger and really makes the hunt so much more enjoyable.  Note that I am not a big fan of over-calling and I call only as much as is absolutely necessary.
 

I agree about not being shy about asking the landowners for permission.  You find out it isn't so hard and they may need the help thinning the flock. One of my better friends now is a farmer that had over 300 birds coming to his barn, ripping open his oat hay bales, and then crapping on whatever they didn't eat ... his cattle wouldn't eat it then and he couldn't sell it.
