Sportman's Show
« on: January 27, 2010, 08:40:35 PM »
My son and I just got back from the show. We spent about 6 hours there but need to go back for a few more.

We went to the Hunting with a Bird Dog seminar and it was worthwhile, ended up being more about training but that dude has been doing it for 25 years and I came away with several good ideas.

Steel Head pond is cool

Lots of nice boats, campers, and trailers.

Lots of way over overpriced guides, but some good ones too. Really cool Pro Hunter guide from Africa upstairs, he was worth chatting with and looking through his photo album. Don't know why is here instead of hunting.

Lots of dogs upstairs that were very cool

Stopped in to visit Alice and Doug from Cooke Canyon in their new booth that looks great. Watch the video screen in the frame with flags on it and you'll see me and Max and Pen with some wounded warriors we helped guide on a HAVA trip.

And of course the highlights would not be complete without mentioning the hot scones with jam and the Elk Pepperoni

I'm going back Saturday or Sunday
