They can work. Tried a few mounts on the west side and they fall apart when they get wet. I did several crude mounts for mallard field decoys and they worked very well for about 2 seasons. i would buy some foam bodes from Van Dykes or the similar and mount them that way. You can do a mount to get you buy in about 2 hours or less. Just make sure to get a fleshing wheel or the feathers start falling out and the fat leaks out of the bottom of the mount.
