If you are talking about scouting Vail, forget it.  It is closed to all vehicle traffic and some of it is closed to even foot traffic right now due to active logging.  It isn't worth the bother if you are going in blind.

You can not look to hard for most of the area is owned by WH and they have the all the gates closed, so if you want to do any scouting it will be hiking or biking behind closed gates.

I do not say it is full of hunters to discourage you, because it is 100% the truth.

You have not experanced a hunt untill you have sat in line at the Vail Tree Farm to get in the gate  :kneel:

It is something we all should experance.

I went out there three times this year when the gates were open. It was a mess! You can't glass a cut without another truck speeding by and by the time I decided to go, I couldn't get a map so finding areas without people was nearly impossible. :bash: I did see lots of sign and a couple of good deer though. If you want to check it out I would suggest getting a map and a mountain bike and hitting it mid or late in the week when there aren't many people in there.

I have hunted vail with my family all my life my family have taken alot of deer out of there. It is a really nice area but it is true it does get pretty crazy up there with all the other hunters. I call that place my home hunting ground but I am also starting to hunt different areas do to the traffic. :dunno:
