Melon-Headed Cougar Down (Pics Added)
« on: February 10, 2010, 05:05:22 PM »
While I was vacationing in Kauai my hunting partner and brother in law shot a very nice cougar.  He still uses the disposable cameras for his hunting trips but the pictures are developed and on a cd so I am going to see them tomorrow, hopefully.

This was a hound hunt with Melvin of Kettle River Outfitters in British Columbia.  Melvin has still never shot a cougar himself but supposedly told Tony that this is one he would have taken.  You guys will see it as soon as I do.  Here is a link to the cougar gallery on his website.  This cougar is supposed to top all of them.

Don't worry Charlie, your pictures will still look better since he goes 6'3 and about 260.   :chuckle:

Hey, cut Charlie a break! That was a nice cat!

In the book "Longwalkers" the author went from MT to BC to get into his biggest ever Lion. They've got some dingers up there!

Looking forward to the pics!

While he is old and arthritic from too much weightlifting, you'll still be climbing the hills.  Your cat would look great no matter who was holding it up.

Well the build-up may have been a little too much.  I don't know since he didn't take any of the classic hero poses it is tough to get an idea on it's size.  It might be one of those that you need to be next to, in order to truly appreciate the size.  No matter what the final score it sure is neat to see these magnificent creatures.

Very cool!

Mind if I borrow these pics to send in an email to all my friends?  Looks like this one goes about 325lbs!  :chuckle:

Looks like a big dude with a big cat to me.  Good for him!  Great cat!

Great looking cat, congrats to the guy who killed it.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
