A little tid bit for you guys
« on: February 10, 2010, 08:08:42 PM »
Every now and then i offer up a lil tidbit from lessons i have learned thruout the years . we are all in the same boat now that breeding season is upon us .
when setting up your stand with the down wind side fully visible start your stand with a higher pitched long howl .
just let it roll dont stop the howl at the end with a abrupt ending , just let it die off softly .
wait three to five and start your caller on low volume , now as your caller or mouth blown calls are doing a distress ( hopefully sompthing other then a rabbit dist .) mix in a few hunting barks and crisp screams , sound like a excited coyote chasing down a meal .
kind like this yip yip scream , scream yip yip . do this thruout your stand ( useing intervals) and see how it works for you . i have had great sucess in the past few years useing this tactic.
more to come down the road . enjoy , Jerry . ;)

I appreciate that tip Jerry, Gringo 31 & I had the debate just other day about stopping the howl or letting die out.  He was in of the opinion that it needs to stop, when I have had such bad luck here as of late with the dogs doing anything when they herd my howls period.  I will give it ago tomorrow, & have Gringo read this....

Gee Jerry, with the tips you're giving out the there's not going to be any extra tricks up our sleeves.  :chuckle: :chuckle: Just ribbing you, Keep them coming. For us it seems during this time of year you mostly call in a pair using this technique rather than a single.
