Hiked Royal Gorge, CO
« on: February 15, 2010, 08:55:52 PM »
Some classmates and I went for a day hike today at Royal Gorge.  We probably went 1000 feet down the gorge, almost reaching the river.  Saw some great scenery.  Here are some pics.

That's some pretty tall country.  Looks like good mule deer country in the background.  Nice pics!

It's very mule deer country.  Saw lots of sign, no deer though.

Seems like if you got off the beaten path in that rocky country, you could see some bruisers.  Those long ridges in the background looks pretty bucky.   :)

Funny you should mention cats.  We were constantly scanning for them.  We saw some tracks but they were to small for cougar.  Bobcat maybe?  My calves are so sore today.  LOL!

Looks like a great hike and beautiful scenery.  My hip flexors started aching looking at these.  Hopefully you didn't have to do too much side-hilling.

Middle of the day maybe?  And we weren't exactly being quiet.
