RMEF dinner at Sno Casino
« on: February 28, 2010, 10:24:09 PM »
Anybody on here make it to the elk foundation dinner on Saturday. My old man and I were there and in my typical fashion, didn't win crap in the raffle. I did have a good time and at least my old man won a few cool things and was top bidder in a silent auction item.

Hey Vandeman,

Yes, I was the guy at your table chatting with you and your dad. He gave me his card so I will email him to stay in touch. I might try and make the Everett dinner just to compare as I have only been to the Sammamish chapter dinners since moving here.

Has anyone else gone to both? Is Everett's any better?

Regards,
Fulla

I was there and had fun.  I was the guy that won my wife the banquet buckle and also one of the statues in the silent auction.  Damn I am having serious regrets at not not pulling the trigger and making one last bid on that Kimber rifle.  I was in the process of consulting with my treasurer when the bidding closed and she says to me, "it's your decision."  I'm like crap, Noooooooooooooooooo the bidding just ended why couldn't you have said that a half second sooner.

Was there, but didn't get anything in the raffle.  My wife won a trip to Vegas.

Small world,

Wonky, I road down in the elevator with you and your wife. I was the guy with the chairs and knife set. Glad to see some attendance from the Forum there.

Trying to go to the Everett dinner as well...we'll see.

Very cool Fullabull.  I'm gonna try and make the Kittitas banquet later in the year.  By the way, Go Raiders!

I got the 6 day elk/deer hunt.

Now she was politely upset about the matter at the time, but I didn't figure she was really looking forward to a week in Kansas.  Week prior she was stewing a bit about going down there for a whitetail hunt.  She doesn't hunt much, so she was trying to see what's interesting in Salina or Wichita or sites like the worlds deepest hand dug well.  Turns out she is more interested in a weekend in Vegas... and I get to watch the boys this weekend while she's out on the river.

When I was a kid and mom had a car load of us, she'd pull over at a place she didn't like such as McDonalds and turn us loose in there for a moment of relief.  Never gave us much time so we had to be quick about it.  She boasted that they had the cleanest restrooms at a great price, she couldn't stand the food so we never ate there.  So I suppose you could do the same with the casino at exit 27.  Consider it a rest area with valet parking.  Maybe bring in some reading material, take your time.  Saves on the water bill at home.

Cute thing about it all is that their symbol is the crescent moon.  It's even on their front door.  :chuckle:

Was that you that was bidding on the mule train statue?  If so, I think it was you and I that were bidding against each other.  Congrats - I got tired of walking over to try to out bid you!

Good banquet..

Lol, yeah that was me!  I almost got my butt kicked by a couple of pissed off wives.   :chuckle:  However, I made some bonus points with the wife over it and it looks pretty good in our living room.
