Figured I'd throw a couple sheep on here too. The first is a Stone somewhere in the Yukon Territories... and the second is a Dall on the Brooke Range

The dall, I actually went after with archery, got within fifteen yards but honetly would not have called him legal for he didn't make a full curl, as per Alaskan law. Showing the photos to others, several have argured, but I still feel not legal hense no shot.... Maybe I was wrong but felt better about it in the end... The Stone was on the Highway, (dirt Road) standing there and I thought he was going to ram the truck, pretty cool, ten feet away, even my crappy camera took a decent pic there.

I think you made the right call. It would have been close, but I don't think those Alaskan game boys mess around. Some folks think WDFW guys are tough. They take their game serious up there. I got some ewe shots right where the Alcan meets with the ....crap whats the other main drag....I can't think of it...anyway just about where the two meet up there, the road SMithers is off of, that way. I can't believe I can't think of what it is. Too late, too many hours I guess.

Bone, Do you mean Sheep Slope up on the haul road, or was this along the Richardson Hwy somewhere? Did you make it all the way up to Prudoe Bay? If you ever get a chance, it the best drive, so beautiful, especially around Chandelar Shelf before Atigun Pass.. One of the reason, I go every year, for the views and of course a $15.00 burger at Cold Foot...

Got to have the burger at Coldfoot and take a few pictures!! On our way back from our sheep hunt we stopped there and after eating dehydrated food for 10 days I woofed down 2 burgers. One of the guys with us was so hungry he ate two full coarse meals. I was wondering where he was putting it as he couldn't have weighed 140 lbs soaking wet. Believe me we were definatelywet that after comming out in a torential downpour.

This was the Alcan, somewhere in the Yukon still I believe.
Nice goat, one species I hardly have photographed.

Bone- Check this out, A friend sent me this photo, it has to be the best photo I have ever seen of a dall sheep, personal opinion, I'm sure the "Professional" photographers will argue this, but to me it so cool.. I'm not sure where it was taken or by whom... The red and orange colors really make the white animal stand out..

Well, I haven't seen one better, so I would have to agree with you. Other than complete brute record book size, thats the only thing missing. Crisp focus on his face and detail in his horns is perfect, and the color with the non distracting background is perfect.
