OK guys,
This may be a duhhhh question but are their Largemouth Bass up in Washington? I've never realy been anything other than a Trout, Salmon, Steelhead fisherman when I was in Oregon. It seemed to me I heard a few people talking about it. I know they have them in California. They have some biguns their.
If so about how big do they get? Anyone now the state record?

DON'T TELL ANYBODY!!!
yes there are largemouth, smallmouth, numerous warmwater fish. our specialty is salmon, steelhead and trout, but bass do certainly exist.
a big largemouth around here is 8-9lbs. they are in a lot of the lakes in the state.

Wow small buggers up their. Bass is like the #1 game fish down here. Out of fish I do they are the most numerous.
Down here lots of people catch a release 11lb Bass. Of course not everyone. 10 lbs is considered a lunker. Anything over 10 lbs is usually mounted. I have seen some big fish come from down here. I just got done mounting a turkey for a guy that swears up and down he's caught them up to 17lbs. Which I don't doubt. A buddy of mine up in north Florida brings in atleast 3 or 4 - 14 pounders a year.

I'll take the steelhead too!
I like painting the Reproduction Sheelheads, Salmon, and trout. Lots of work on them. Those tiny scales are killer when you have to tip them all individualy. Plus I think they are the prettiest looking fish you can catch. Even better than the florecent tropical stuff down here.

Smallies are far more numerous Wa, than largemouth. I saw a guy nab a 10lb bigmouth out of silver lake near Yelm, my best is only 4lbs. Smallies seem to do better where it gets a little colder like it does particularly in E. Wa.. Personally I feel a smallie will outfight a bigmouth most of the time, pound for pound and they taste pretty good too..

My stepdad has gotten an 80lb'er and a 130 on the fly.
says the closest he could come to describing how the 130lb'er felt was to tie the flyline to the bumper of a truck and have them drive away.
i'll see if i can come up with any pic's
