Pear blossom macro photo
« on: March 07, 2010, 12:47:22 PM »
I just took this macro photo of a Pear Blossom in my back yard. It really isn't a true Macro photo because I took it with my Canon 400 mm L series lens from a distance of 14 feet. (the closest I could get and still get the lens to focus.  :o )

I think it came out pretty darned good even though the weather is quite dark and nasty today and I was hand holding the long lens. :)

I hope you enjoy the photo. :)

Good Pic!  thank you for posting.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

I took this one last year.  Thought it came out pretty good.

Thanks Bone! :) I guess I am pretty lucky. I don't seem to have much trouble hand holding the 400 L.  :o (even though my 400 L doesn't have IS). I do have an old 500 mm. Mirror lens from my old film camera days that I was never able to hand hold. I took it to a camera shop locally to adapt it over to an EOS mount (it just screwed on to the back of the lens.) I could not get a decent photo out of that lens, but the Lady at the shop could hand hold it and get awesome photos!  :o :(

Wow!  My pears haven't opened yet but the buds are spreading out.  Beautiful picture.  You are almost an hour south of us, therefore a little earlier I guess.
