Painting Scopes
« on: March 12, 2010, 05:04:50 PM »
Any reason not to camo ( paint ) a scope other than possible warranty issue?  I see quite a few camo'd guns with scopes that are still black :dunno:

The only reason I can see is fogging  - due to camo paint not absorbing as much heat as the factory black - I think this is marginal though.
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

Took me quite a while to talk myself into it, but my scope has suffered no ill effects. I don't think Leupold would reject a warranty claim based on paint. By the way, these are both 8.5X25X50 Long range target Leupolds... Not what you'd call cheap.

What did you use to paint those Leupolds?  They look great.
