Turkeys Loop Loop Pass
« on: March 14, 2010, 04:25:09 PM »
I am wanting to take my 12 year old daughter turkey hunting for the youth season, she will finally shoot the Rossi 20 gauge I bought for her. She is small and the recoil was a problem but I think we are finally over that. We can only hunt week ends, I cant miss work and she can not miss school so we will  leave Friday night hunt Saturday all day then Sunday mourning so I am trying to hunt as close as possable to the west side. Any advice on loop loop or twisp or anywhere would be greatley appreceated, I just need a starting point so we can start scouting as soon as they open the pass. Thank You

Never hunted Loop Loop for turkey, but from what I hear, is during the the Youth Season, it is pretty easy to find them up there.   :dunno:   You can also check out Twisp River Road, saw a whole bunch up there last year durning the youth hunt, they were on private land that backed up to private.  We knocked on the door, the guy said he would be fine with us shooting them if his wife wasn't home... said they roost up on the public land and feed on private.  Thats as much info as I really know... good luck!
I would rather be a conservative nut job, than a liberal with no nuts, and no job!

Rock creek area has some birds.  Buzzard lake has a lot of birds but it is mostly private you'll need to knock on doors.
