Broken arrows
«
on:

I have a 5 gallon bucket full of broken arrows, all I "robin hooded". Does anyone see a reason I cant cut the bad end off and refletch for my grandson to use. His bow is only 20 lbs and draw length is only 18", just a 6 year year old.
Thanks
Don

I don't know, but I personally wouldn't use them. There could be some small fractures further along the arrow.

First of all. Good shooting. You may want to move back a little farther
. Second I would say try a few. You definately could use the back arrow (the one that did the robinhooding). At that low of wt I would seriously doubt there would be any splinter problems while shooting.

I really hate to give the kids an old arrow spined for an adult bow that has been cut down. The spine is so stiff on those arrows the poor little guys don't have much of a chance to do well. I also agree with the safety issue with carbon arrows. You really can never be sure there isn't a crack you can't see. Then you have to ask yourself the question " am I willing to take the chance with my little guy?"

Thanks for the info. Athough I think I could throw the arrows faster than hes shooting safety is always top priority. I'll just buy the kid some new arrows.
Thanks
