Perch anyone??
« on: March 26, 2010, 08:46:28 AM »
On Sunday, March 7, 2010, Bob Ruff of Garnavillo, Iowa, landed a perch while ice fishing a bayou of the Mississippi River’s Pool 11 that turned out to be a new state record. The jumbo yellow-belly weighed 2 pounds, 6 ounces. This fish breaks the old record, shared by three other anglers, by 3 ounces
22 years 3 months and 4 days, happily retired from the U.S Army.

What a toad!  Silver Lake (in Spokane Co) should be turning on real soon, and Down's Lake should really produce by mid-July.

That is a big Perch! I think our new state record is in Moses Lake. We have got quite a few jumbo's, my Dad got a 15''er a few years ago!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

WHat a nice perch
Used to catch big perch ice fishing for walleyes. Funny the perch would try and swallow a minnow half their size!
Voracious eaters and very tasty

Perch and Crappie fillets, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good!  makes me want to go fishing.  :fishin: :fishin:
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

That's a whopper! I caught one 13" in potholes a few years ago, it hit a 5" grub. I didn't even get a hook in him, he just swallowed it and couldn't spit it out. Not nearly as fat as that pig, but it's the biggest I've ever caught.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

I've caught big perch in the Dakotas, lots of 1-2lbers..Nothing that big..Eat it or mount it??  Reminds me of this crappie I caught several years ago..I released it.  Should have mounted it?
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!
