I'll tell you right off the bat, living in Tr-Cities your two best options are the Walla Walla/Dayton area and up north around the greater Spokane area...Unless you are a local and spend a ton of time in the Cle Elum area, the birds there are tough to locate and they move a ton. There just aren't that many birds and they cover a large territory.

The advantage you have in the Walla Walla/Dayton area is that you can get over there in an hour and a half, which will allow you to scout pretty much everyday if you wanted, after work trips are possible even if you work during the week. If I were you, I would spend my time over there. I started turkey hunting over there when I was in Tri-Cities and Pullman, it's a great area and you can scout for other animals as well.

Look at the harvest reports in the spring turkey phamplet ... consistently 70+ % of the state harvest is in NE Wa followed by SE WA around 14%, Klickitat area 7%, 3% in central east slope of the Cascades, and 4% in northern east slope of the Cascades ... 1+% on the westside. Lots of public land in both NE & SE areas. Consistlly successful hunts depend on scouting no matter the animal ....
