Any info on Mashel???

Looking at new ML opportunities.
Don't need honey holes, but would like any info on the unit. It is a long drive for a scouting session. Big bulls come from the unit so i have heard.

I was wondering if it is worth the drive???
Vancouver to there is a few hours and alot of fuel.
I see that only about 100-150 hunters in there during ML, and it looks inviting. Are the bulls hard to find? Why is it any elk??? That says to me that you will have a hard time finding elk???
Just wondering.

I know this is an old post, but I was wondering the same thing. Unlike HatesMe, Mashel is relatively close to me and was going to look into it until I seen only 6 elk that came out of there last year (I think). Scouting the Mashel and Skook area around Alder Lake would be very convenient for me.

There's no elk in that unit. Drive in about halfway and go for a walk. You will not find elk scat all over the place.
