Congrats on getting drawn..

So how do you go about picking an area for the draw without being able to scout, etc. Is it from research, friends of friends, etc?

We drew with 8 points. My dad and a friend drew that many years ago and spent 2 weeks scouting, saw a few of the big boys and ended up with a 356 with broken tines. So ya your right about the broken ones.

Lots of research. Harvest reports, goole earth, talking to taxidermists, biologists and game wardens. Biggest help of all would be to hook up with a local or someone that has drawn before. Start buying points now and worry about where to hunt later. You've got 8 to 15 years brfore you'll draw. :( Hope this helps.
