Well it was a very very nasty morning, pourin rain. broke a little after first light. had birds shocked up on the hill. got all set up and was doin some sweet talking right at legal hours. but it was still a little darker in the area i was at with the trees. i saw some bird coming down the hill to my left. there was three hens and in the back there was 2 jakes and a struter which i thought would be a tom. i called them in to about 30 yards and i don't like them much closer than that or i am shooting such a small pattern with my choke it is allot harder to shoot them. they got to my opening and i did a little quick cutting and they gobbled when the sturter stuck his neck out he got a 3.5" fed with flite control and #6 to the head and neck. the browning did its jobs and the jelly head turned his head to jelly. then the others scattered. and it was still dark enough i could not for sure tell which were the 2 jakes so of course i passed on the shot at a second bird. but overall a good day in the turkey woods for the type of weather we had.
