Pathways
« on: April 15, 2010, 09:54:00 PM »
As we hustle and bustle through our hectic days we all need to remember to slow down a bit and take some personal time for our own well being. We really need to remember that we are only on this earth for a short time. If we do not accept this concept we will suddenly find out that we do not get another go-around!

On April 14th. I decided to forgo my usual day off ritual of mowing the lawn, running errands and catching up on my to-do list. It was my decision to go out on a photo safari with my Canon digital camera, in hopes that I could find some awesome photos and to just unwind.

Our life is a pathway from birth to death, sometimes it is a paved highway, sometimes it is just a dirt path. My path on that day was one off the beaten path and it even had a bench to rest on.

We can choose our own direction, or we can choose to follow everyone else.

Either path we go down we need to slow down and look at the wonders all around us! Even the lowliest little wild daisy is a thing of beauty!

As I walked and looked around I found the neat little photographs all around me. A little pink flower from a berry bush

a tiny purple flower tucked into lush green leaves

Hiding at the foot of a big tree was a little Troll

In a little while the trail came to the edge of a pretty little creek

As I walked down the path my heart and soul became so lifted and all the stress I had been worrying about just seemed to melt from my mind. I knelt near the creek in order to gain a different perspective for a photograph and then suddenly I spotted this little shell laying wide open on a moss-covered log

as I walked I came upon a wide part in the trail beside the creek where I got to see a magnificent sight

Sadly, the trail finally came to an end back near my pick-up truck. I know I must have walked past thousands of photographs that were just waiting to happen; but there will be another day for them. I plan to take that trail many more times this spring and summer. Hopefully the stress I leave behind there will not clutter up the area and maybe even work as fertilizer for more beauty.

Before I traveled back home I decided to go visit a little lake not far from where I traversed the pathway. I got into my truck and took a leisurely trip up to Cain Lake

The sky was magnificent, beauty abound and the lake was as calm and tranquil as my mind and soul

I hope and pray that each and every one of you that takes the time to read this and look at the photos will consider taking your own little safari. Heck, you don’t even need a camera! Just get out there, slow down, Relax and enjoy all of the beauty around you! You will quickly find out like I did that it is Medicine for the Soul!
