Turkey Skin Needed
« on: April 17, 2010, 09:56:50 PM »
Hi All, it looks as if the season is starting off nicely based on all the pic's.  Good going everyone!  I'm in dyer need of a Merriam turkey skin for replacement parts if anyone out there is going to throw theirs  away after your hunt.  I don't need the beards or Fan, but could use the whole skin on an adult bird.

Thanks in advance everyone and good luck on your hunts. ;)

John

P.S. Tip of the week:  If your considering having a Tom mounted, try and get to your Tom as fast as you can right after the shot so it doesn't flop around on the ground as all of them do.  That causes EXTREME damage to the feathers, and feather loss which greatly effects the end result of your mount.

When you get to your bird, pick it up by the legs and hold it with the breast facing you at waist high and allow the wings to flap on the outside of your legs until the Tom dies.  There will be no feather damage if you can do this.  Good luck.
