High elevation lake
« on: April 19, 2010, 11:30:09 AM »
So I was thinking about going up to my favorite lake on Saterday but it's at 3500 ft. Does anyone know if it would be possible to make it up there that high? I know it snowed recently but I don't think there's a very good base this year, plus our warm weather were having the last week or so.
To God alone be the Glory!!

I believe it is too early yet.

This year, you might try it.  Up until a month ago, it would have been a pretty good bet. I'm guessing it would be ice free, but not sure.  Pretty mild winter this year.  Water might be a tad cold to catch trout?  Give a shout if you go.

hit plenty of snow today at work probably about 2,700', most of the clear cuts at elevation are clear except areas that dont get much sun, but the snow is holding pretty good on the roads.  The snow is very wet and not easy to get around in, had to dig myself out this afternoon.

There are 3 local lakes I hike into with a fly rod and a float tube. Usually not fishable until middle of June.
They  are all around 3200-3500 ft
