Special Permits, Group App question
« on: April 26, 2010, 08:47:08 PM »
If I apply for special permits as the leader of a group, but it turns out no members join, do I still go through the drawing as per usual? ie could I still draw a tag for myself as group-less leader?

Reason I ask is because my brother isn't sure yet if he'll be able to hunt this season, but I'd like to go ahead and just submit my applications to get if off my to-do list, and then he could join or not depending on if he figured it out.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, you will be fine. I'd just go ahead and do it that way. I've done the same thing in the past when I didn't know if my partner wanted to apply with me or apply separately.

npaull - Not trying to thread jack here, just thought I'd piggy back on your topic because it looks like bobcat answered your question.

Can you apply as a group in certain deer categories and apply as an individual in others? I assume that each category, "quality" "buck" "anterless" etc. are all treated as their own separate drawing so I'd only assume this was possible, but couldn't find it in black and white in the regs?

I believe your assumption is correct. I submitted most of my appliclations last night, and with every one I had to choose "single" or "group"  application.
