Broadhead target
« on: April 29, 2010, 09:48:06 AM »
I need a decent broadhead target. I spent last evening tuning broadheads. Got about 45 minutes into a Morrell foam target supposed to be made for broad heads. That was a waste of $75 now I have a bunch of expensive packing foam. Any suggestions on what target might make it through at least a few months?

Thanks
Don

I have been shooting the heck out of a "Buckmasters" block, one of those yellow and black square blocks.
As long as you only shoot Bheads at the correct side (black ends) it should last a while, although it does get shredded.

i go threw one about every six months because i shoot so much and shoot broadheads all year long with my field points. the best one out there is rinehart there block that they make comes with a year long gaurentee that if you shoot out all the sides they will send you a new one free. cabelas is now carrying them and they have a new one out. the one is 99 and the other like 140 they are the best broadhead targets out there. if you don't want to spend that much i also have a yellow jacket supreme that has been a good target as well. and they are about 70.00

The 18 sided reinhart looks pretty neat if it would hold up. Anyone try fixing a foam target with great stuff spray foam?

yeah the 18-1 was the target that i was talking about and it will hold up i shoot more than 90% of most people and if i don't shoot it out in a year when i use broadheads all year long off and on then most will get prob 2 years out of them.

and yes wabow i have done that a few times and it works but not super great the bubbles that form are a little to big and makes it more fluffy then dense but it will work

Mine is / was the Morrell six shooter on the cabela's sight. I like to shoot on average Id guess a dozen or so arrows a day. Some days less but some many more. With the Morell I shot for about 45 minutes and can fit my foot through the hole. I think the hay bale stopped more arrows than the target. :)

I'm going to go down and pick up a rinehart, I have blown through my other block already. It was the cabelas brand....was not to impressed with it and I was only using field tips not broad heads. Thanks for the heads up on a good target.

The yellow jacket I have is a broadhead only target and is really tough. I shot broadheads for an hour the other day and there are holes but not all the way thru, plenty more target to shoot at. trust it when it says don't shoot field tips tho, I literally had to stand on top of the target and pull the "sword from the stone" with an arrow puller. Brutal!!!

I believe the reinhardt 18-1 has a 1 year warranty.

Block Fusion 4x4

Not cheap, but it's holding up well.
