The fact is there are up to 150 deer per square mile in the better areas. you dont see them because there smart and the big ones are sneaky as hell.
So anywoods can have abundent Deer. Some areas have bigger genetics. But finding those areas takes a little luck and some scouting time. Big bucks usaully work less than a square mile of core area there whole life.
It sounds like you need to work on what to look for and determine were there necesities are in that area.
For instance, did you know they dont travel the same trail in both directions?
They generally bed on the top 3rd of the hills or ridges with wind at there back.
It can take a big buck 30 minutes to move 30 yards when poking its head out to feed.
They will most likey hold and be still unless you get too close. Rather than busting out.
