The ol' fishing hole
« on: May 08, 2010, 03:59:22 PM »
Next Saturday, May 15th we are having our annual kids fishing day in Kent at the ol' fishing hole.  The park is located off of Meeker next to the golf course where Meeker meets Kent-DesMoines Rd.  The Rotary Club of Kent stocks the pond with trout and supplies the poles and bait, nets and volunteers to help kids catch and keep 2 trout.  We start at 7:00 and will have coffee and donuts early, we also cook hot dogs and will even grill the trout if the kids want.  We usually have a good turnout of local kids.  I am posting this here to let you all know-most of you fish and take your kids fishing, but if you would like to come and volunteer to get some other kids a chance to get into fishing, you are more than welcome!  We get a lot of kids who could use some help and encouragement, I get a lot of enjoyment out of watching the kids catch 9sometimes their first) fish.  If you would like to come and help for an hour and a half shift let me know.  Or just stop by and bring some kids.
Thanks
