A day with the boy.
« on: February 18, 2008, 05:13:58 PM »
Since I had the day off and school was out I thought I would take my 6 year old to the lake and see if we could catch a fish or two for dinner. I caught a few trout between 12 and 16 inches, but nothing worth keeping. Then my father hooked into a good one. He fought it for a couple minutes then handed it off to my son.

After about 5 minutes he got it close to shore and he handed the rod off to me so he could net it. The fish took one last run and almost wrapped around the net but we got it.

It weighed 4.5lbs. I didn't get a length measurement, but it was 20+ inches

Just got done eating about a 1/4 of it. :chuckle:

Good deal brother, I can't wait for a little more ice to melt on the lakes around Eburg so I can take my boys out. Looks like he had a good time, Cool :)

Billy what Lake was that? Pretty fish!
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.
Psalm 144.1
