HELP!!!! TURKEYS IN DAYTON UNIT
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:45:05 AM »
LAST WEEK, THINGS DIDN'T WORK OUT WITH THE LANDOWNER WHO WAS GOING TO LET ME HUNT HIS PROPERTY FOR TURKEYS  (SOME *censored*S WERE TRESSPASSING ON HIS LAND DURING THE WEEK,, AND "HARVESTED A COUPLE OF TURKEYS")  SO HE SAID MAYBE NEXT YEAR....  WELL.. NOW I HAVE A TAG TO FILL, AND I NEED TO FIND A PLACE TO HUNT.... GENERALLY AROUND DAYTON/ WALLA WALLA/ TUCANNON..... I DON'T NEED ANY HONEY HOLES,  JUST WANT A TURKEY.  I HONESTLY DON'T CARE IF ITS A TOM/ JAKE/ BEARDED HEN...  JUST WANT THE MEAT... LOL  WELL  I MANAGED TO FIND A COUPLE FREE TO HUNT AREAS BY WALA WALLA.... BUT STILL NO LUCK....    CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME ANY SUGJESTIONS... TIPS.... PM ME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO POST A PLACE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE.....  WELL THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Have you ever been in the Tucannon?
It's mostly lots of public ground and turkeys do in fact live there.
Seems kinda like a no-brainer to me. Thats where I'd be. Lots of private ground in Dayton that you won't get on.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

I WAS THINKING ABOUT TUCANNON,  BUT DON'T KNOW HOW FAR UP THE TUCANNON TO GO....  INTO THE NATIONAL FORREST?  WILDLIFE AREA?
