Fall Turkey Rules
« on: May 05, 2010, 07:10:43 PM »
I noticed that when We are muzzleloader hunting in Eastern Washington, there is a turkey season, where You cannot shoot any bird with red???   There are about 1000 on the ranch we hunt and we have never taken a shotgun to shoot one, so we can see how they taste.   What are the rules for this time of year??

They taste like turkey.  Oh, and the rules...same as the spring, you buy a tag, hunt around a little and hope you get one. :IBCOOL:

It sounds from your comments...you are specifically hunting during a fall season which coincides with a muzzleloader deer season?..and with your comment can't shoot anything with red..which isn't the true definition.. the area you hunt must be in the beardless only season?  Some young toms have pinkish heads in the fall and they may have beards..you must get close and identify the target.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!

Check the fall big game phamplet for rules and regs ... last year it was a 2 week period starting Sat. Sept 26th for Units 105 - 124 for two beardless birds with a shotgun or bow&arrow ... plus 1 additional bird of either sex in about 1/2 dozen general units or 1/2 dozen special permit units.
