Anybody interested in German Mid-Hair Pointers??
« on: May 08, 2010, 07:58:17 PM »
Otherwise known as German Pointers....that is a cross between a German Longhair Pointer and a German Shorthair Pointer.

Best case:  Pups with shorthair, swimming ability of the longhair, and laid-back temperament of the Longhair.  Size would be on the small size just in the case the longhair lap dog genes get into the mix.

Worst case:  A longhair pup without webbed feet, the temperament of a shorthair, and 90 lbs.

Any interest?

Both dogs certified for everything under the sun.  Both dogs outstanding hunters.  Price is not an issue, we are just curious as to how the dogs will turn out.

Don't need lectures on pure breeds, etc.  Have had both mixed hunting dogs and certified papered dogs and it has been a push between the dogs.

Why would you want to mess up 400 yrs of breeding by turning out some mutts.  You have just as good of chance of bring out everything undesirable in the two breeds.  Just find youself a a good bitch or stud and breed for pick of the litter, if your dogs have any good history you shouldn't have too much of a problem finding someone.
