jdb, we need a link, lol.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

in the article the author is testing a cooper arms .257 bob ai which is cool, but it wieghs 9.5 lbs! my thought is at almost 10 lbs you could be shotin a .257 roy :dunno: but to each his own. The thing that really got me was this semi custom rifle was only getting like 2" groups at 100 yrds! so the author takes it back to cooper, they check it out say all is good :bash: the author then applies shims under the barrel viola it shoots sub moa! at the price they charge for a cooper shouldnt it shoot w/o having to play w/ it?

I scanned thru the article standing at Fred M's today.

The thing that got me is that he was burning an awful lot of powder in a really expensive gun and not getting much for it.

The following load is for just the regular Bob, from the Hogdon reloading center.

115 GR. NOS PART  Hodgdon  Hybrid 100V  OAL 2.780"   42.0g      2845 fps  40,700 CUP      46.0C g  3049fps   46,600 CUP

None of the loads listed in the article broke 2900 fps with a 115 gr bullet.

What does the 257 Roberts Ackley do that the 25-06 does not?  If I can get 3000fps plus in my regular Roberts and also load it down for the range or varmints why shatter the earth burning truck loads of powder?  Wouldn't it be smarter to get a 270 if that's what you need?

Please be gentle, this is my first time, but what am I missing?

The anwer to your question is, nothing.  The 257 roberts AI actually still doesn't run with the 25-06.  You do have a pretty cool little wildcat cartridge, nothing more.   :twocents:
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

I got a kick outta that myself.  A wonderful custom rifle, except for the accuracy thing?
