Bore B Dry

I found some plugs made of a rubbery material that are Bright Orange. They fit fifty caliber rifle bores and will also fit the nipple. They will keep dirt out of the bore when storing and by using two you can seal the barrel for transporting to keep moisture at bay. I think they would work at the range to help identify to the range master you are clear for a cease fire.

That’s a great idea for hunting in the rain.  I don’t see that it will help at the range however.  You can still be loaded, cocked and capped with that in the barrel.

My range insists on chamber flags so I stick one between the hammer and the nipple.  False sense of security for the rangemaster, the rifle can still be loaded and capped that way as well.

CP,
the plug can be installed on the nipple as the small hole in the top picture shows with it in place the rifle can not fire.
