Tournament #3 - Pend Oreille River
« on: May 24, 2010, 10:05:16 AM »
My bass club had it's third tournament for the year on the Pend Oreille River.  48 anglers in 25 boats.  I didn't do as well as I had hoped, finishing 28th.

Total Fish: 7
Total weight: 8.68 lbs
Water temps: 57-60*
Top producing baits:  1) Senko 2) Suspending Jerkbait 3) Spiinerbait

I did catch my first pike, which are rampant in these waters.  The Calispell Tribe asked us to start keeping them after this tourney.

All in all it was a good weekend.  Weather was nice at times, then it would get nasty.

Thanks.  I forgot to add that the largie in the pic was a fish that broke me off the day before.  I know this because my senko and hook were still in his throat.  I tried to get it out but the hook was stuck and I didn't want to kill him.  I just snipped off the line at the ey of the hook and let it be.  He was still very much alive after 7 hours in the livewell.

Yeah Matt, I saw Nik.  We spoke a bit about turkey hunting.  And yes, he won the Junior's....as usual.  He was in the top 10 overall.  That kid is a machine!

We launched out of the Outpost.  It has new owners and they are super nice.

Thought so..  I can see my familys land in the background.  They own the chunk with the log cabin on it that butts up to the south of the Outpost property.  Glad to hear the new owners are nice.  I spent my summers hanging out at the Outpost and fishing around there.  Love it over there.  Thanks again for the pictures!
