Idaho hiking trip

Was in the Boise area visiting friends and family and went for a 5.5 hour hike. Was nice out and wanted to get some sun... ended up getting a bad sunburn. Kept checking my shoulders and didn't look bad at all, but of course is more of the delayed reaction thing.  :bdid:

Took my dog, Bailey up with me. Saw one deer early on, one pronghorn, what was either a really big coyote or was a big bad woof (who was up above the elk), and a whole bunch of elk. Don't know if it was one big herd split into four different groups or four different herds. Saw five big snakes too, four were all brown, fifth is pictured.

Only animals I disturbed were the one deer, one pronghorn, and the snakes. Elk never saw me or let on that they did, and was trying to keep it that way.

The deer was on that hillside. Didn't bring my binoculars or probably would have seen more.

See the elk?

Zoomed in and cropped.

Pronghorn is directly behind Bailey

Up above some elk now

Above a seperate group, which I think were bulls.

Few more

Looks like woofs aren't the only problem around here...

Almost walked right over him

That is not a small kitty track!  :o  Bull snakes may not be dangerous...but they dont feel good when they bite you and can be scary as hell!!! :chuckle:
