Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Sample???? Are you guys kidding! (grin) I'm the most PC challenged guy you ever met! (grin) I don't have a clue how a guy would do it! But within the next few days we are putting a sample of the CD & the PlayBook on a clip under our other ElkNut stuff.

Although you can't go wrong, the CD's are the actual Sounds By the Elk, 26 of them & all defined, the PlayBook explains them in detail as far as when the elk use them & what they are saying, this will aid us in using the right sound at the right time ourselves or just defining what we are hearing from vocal but unseen elk! Thanks guys for you orders, there are many here that have done so!

Today is the last day for the 16.95 CD or the 30.95 for the ElkNuts PlayBook & CD Combo Special!

WOW! While I was typing (one finger) Dreamingbig put up the CD Case, man how do you guys do it? Thank You Sir!

  Thanks/ElkNut

These are actual elk making these sounds, not humans! All sounds are listed on the back cover there! Each sound is defined then aprox 4-5 different bulls/cows are making them per track. Each sound sequence is on a separate track so you can go to any one you'd like without listening to the whole thing. This took a year to put together to find all the needed sounds but was worth it! Thanks!

You are more than welcome Sir!

For others to know the answer as to your question, yes, the Sounds are very clear & have been adjusted & brought forward so they are very understandable. No one should have no issues with them. As a matter of fact, they are quite awesome if I don't say so myself! (grin)

Firedog, thanks! Take into consideration that understanding what you're hearing is more important than having to imitate all sounds heard. You only need a handful of sounds for consistent success in having call ins or stalk/call-ins. Focus much more on what sounds mean what as most hunters will hear elk long before they ever see them, so by understanding what you're hearing (not seeing) you can now get a good handle on what's happening or being said or asked for & now form a solid strategy!

Don't just be another hunter that hears a bugle or cow sound & says hey there's elk over there, instead, understand it & act accordingly! This may not be able to happen 100% of the time but 90% of the time is common! In other word become a "Reader Of The Situation"  Good Luck!

Like an idiot, I missed the pre-order time.  Even though it was five bucks more, I still ordered the CD.  I've been talking to elk for a long time (roughly 25 years), and I consider myself very proficient; however, I learn something new with each of Elknut's products.  I'm looking forward to spending some time listening to this one!

OH trust me I understand that, I am an info junkie. Have lots of videos to study and anohter great CD by Steve Chappell of elk sounds that I have been listening to to learn more and more. So that coupled with as much time in the woods as possible I learn more every season.

firedog, I agree with you 100% about the in the field experience, it's priceless! Couple that with homework such as understanding sounds & situation of use will just flat make you a better elk hunter! Take it a step further & now watch all elk hunting shows you can & listen to the elk & see if you can take all that learning & understand what you're hearing. It's amazing how well you'll get at interpreting them! This is a great exercise that will ready you that much more for you elk hunt! Just don't yell at the hunters on TV as they go against what the elk are saying or asking! (grin)

Accurate info is also very important not just someones theories, this can only be achieved through study not just because a guy has seen this or that a few times.---I believe the Estrus Buzz is misrepresented at times as why elk use it & when. This can cause more problems than help!

What is your understanding on this sound, I'd be very interested to know? Thanks!

I just finished listening to this CD.  I won't call it a brilliant work of art, because I don't think that was its intent.  However, I will call it a good collection of damn-hard-to-come-by sounds.  Well done ElkNut!  That was a great addition to the collection, because all the sounds are made by elk and not a caller.  It really gives a good perspective about their individual voices.

I couldn't recommend this highly enough to do it justice to someone who was anything less than a 40 year veteran of calling elk with 20+ bulls under their belt.  The caveat I would put in is that you'd need the playbook to go along with it to see what ElkNut has to say about how and when to use the sounds.  Without the playbook of previous videos, then the Sounds Of The Elk CD is far less effective.
