Portable Propane Heater For Boat
« on: June 07, 2010, 12:02:15 AM »
So after freezing my butt off this morning in the rain, I've decided to invest in a new rain shell, but also in a heater for the boat. It's actually my fishin' partners new boat, but I figured it would make for a good boat warming present, literally! Someone told him not to get a mr buddy because they blow out. Just thought i'd see what other people thought. Not sure what else is really out there. I've looked around and see pretty much only mr buddy's. Supposedly 3 Rivers carries a different brand that's supposed to be good. Haven't had a chance to get up there as I work late. Any help or info is much appreciated.

3 Rivers carries one that is wind proof. I have heard good things about them, but haven't seen one first hand. I just use a single Mr. Buddy.

I wouldn't mind spending a little extra for the windproof one. Anyone else have experience with them or know the brand name?

I think the one 3Rivers has is a Coleman and they rock! Brother inlaw has one we run during winter and it definitely puts out the heat!

Three rivers is sold out. Apparently Coleman discontinued making them. There's another brand I'm going look into.

Century. they seem to be readily available and have 3 screens and are windproof. Might try to find a coleman on ebay. I'm kinda thinking of getting the double one from century. Was the one you were talking about a double or single?

Here are the ones:
