new at this, but i'm looking to get into archery, any opinions on a 6 year old hoyt vortec, 70-80lb draw. guy wants $350, loaded ready to shoot.

I don't know but sounds like a lot of money for a 6 year old bow.

A quick search on Archerytalk classifieds shows them selling for about 200-210 setup and shipped.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

yeah a bit much for that old of bow, check out ebay and search. now if he has super premium sights,rest and etc then maybe 350 but if it is just plain jane stuff not worth it in my eyes :twocents:

thanks for the info, still trying to figure out what i want, i bow hunted 15 years ago, that bow now seems heavy and outdated. lost the first and only elk i stuck and it really affected me negatively, good placement it seemed, no recovery. well i'm willing to give it a go again. will be throwing out more questions from time to time, thx again.
