New Boat
« on: June 07, 2010, 09:43:19 PM »
Not mine, but my fishin buddies. 2005 River Wild Custom Sled. Yamaha's for power. 108" Wide, plenty of floor space. Custom rock 'bra' and came with a full canvas cover for storage and hauling. I'm lucky to get to fish in it, took him a couple months to find the right boat. I think it was a great choice. Check it out...

I'd be happy to fish with it. 108 seems pretty wide.

Yeah It's really wide. It has as much or more floor space as a 20 ft Super Vee. He was almost ready to buy a new alumaweld, but this boat is built a lot nicer IMO.  Might hit the cowlitz next weekend.

that is a great looking boat. and I agree, in this state it is sooo hard to pick the 'right' boat. too many types of water and fishing/hunting opportunities to pick just one. My wife said when the Cherokee is paid off I can get one though    just gotta figure out what to get. thinking a big 18+ flat bottom with jet might be most versatile.

You guys will like that wide beam in your buddies boat, super stable. You're going to be able to take that thing just about anywhere.

108 seems pretty wide.

Boats 8'6" (102 inches) and under are considered "trailerable". Those over must get a permit and are generally not said to be "trailerable". I had my custom sled built at 99" and the trailer is 102", keeps everyting legal and takes up more than enough room on a country road   :chuckle:

I was trying to remember exactly how wide it is. It's as wide as any other sled I've seen. Probably around 100. Where is the width measured anyways?

Yes that's him sitting in it. I just noticed the design on the side is not just flames,  but three hooks also. Kinda cool. We'll see how it does tomorrow.

To measure the bottom width, measure from chine to chine at he stern. That boat looks like it will be 72". Measure the beam from outside to outside across the gunnels. My guess is it will be 94" to 96"

I stand corrected. The boat is 102" wide. I guess the original owner heard about my post here and I was corrected. If you read this Mike, sorry I was wrong. All i know is i could run laps inside that boat, and it's clean enough to eat off of. May as well be a new boat as nice as it was taken care of...
