Traditional gear.
« on: June 08, 2010, 10:21:40 AM »
Anyone wear traditional clothing while hunting?  I saw a Youtube video of guys making hunting shirt out of wool blankets and thought it was pretty cool.  My dad use to have a whole outfit.  Would be cool to see some pictures of your traditional gear if anyone has any.

LAst year I used real BP, round ball and a percussion cap. All while wearing wool. Probably as traditional as I will ever get. Heck I've already got a new inline, jacketed bullets and T7 powder. Talk about a 180.

I were wool
Columbia gatlin wool coat
Cabelas dri plus wool bibs when it cold out
Leather possibles bag
and traditions Pennsylvania long rifle when the weathers good other wise in line knight
My buddies all laugh at the possibles bag (purse as they call it) but it makes me feel like Davey Crockett  :chuckle:

I made a couple of bows, and recently a leather quiver.

I'm working on my caveman suit next.

Here's a camera case I stitched up.

And a quiver. 20 dollars was enough leather to make two of these.

Looks like rasbo is going to make a thong out of a mole. Don't wanna see it. Save the photos for Iceman.

Cool stuff Ray.  I might have to try traditional gear next year.  My dad has a couple nice longbows that he is not using.  To late for me to get enough practice in this year with it though.
