Fished the cowlitz this weekend, managed to pull in a nice chromer yesterday pullin plugs. Only saw maybe 5 fish caught near the stretch by the hatchery. Most of the guides weren't in till three and didn't have full boats either. Reports were it was hot last week but they raised the water of course and the bite was definitely off.

Switched up plugs and a minute later tops this nice chromer hammered it. Can't wait for a little bbq action...

Thanks fellas. I was long overdue. We put 12 hours in yesterday and another 5 or 6 today. Got burnt, and worn out after the long drive down, but ended up finding a nice comfy place to stay a couple exits north on the freeway. Normally stay at the little hotel in Salkum but they were booked. Ended up at the Relax Inn in Chehalis, $69 a night and $10 for Ruger the yellow lab. Definitely recommend it.

Went with my wife yesterday (Sunday afternoon). Got one 12-pounder steel below Barrier on spoon, and then moved to Blue Creek area, lost one and caught one 10-pounder on spoon again. Perfect day. I like that high water for my spoon fishing...

We kept talking about breaking out a spoon but never did. Sounds like you changed it up and it paid off. It was pretty slow on the blue creek stretch for this time of year though. Got any pictures?

Nothin fancy. The same as for salmon. Tied right on the main line. We were using a heddons tadpolly I think they call it. Rattles and dives.
