the gate on top of the steep hill going to the right towards Elbe is open from march 15th thru Sept 1st. the other roads up there that are gated now usually remain gated year 'round.

The 5 road is the blue gate at the top and its open until sept. Last time I was up there was about 2 weeks ago and they were pulling logs off that road. They were also loggin were the 9 and 8 road meet just before the orv park if you are coming in from scott turner rd.Goob luck and dont forget if you get way back in there you might be gettin into Kaposin tree farm so be careful they do watch there land closely during the hunting season.

once the fire works start they all go to the tree farm. you get caught in there and its bad news. hunting elk inthe mashel is tricky, if you dont know it well your odds are pretty low.

love that area but am getting real tired of the stupid punks up there leaving garbage and crap everywhare. i found two nice bulls on the edge of the tree farm that were shot and then left. dident evan take the racks. just shot and wasted. :bash: >:(. i am ready for them to just lock all the gates let us just walk in. at least i wouldent have to deal with the disrespectfull punks. let them trash there parents yard or something. :dunno:
hunt for the the challange of the hunt and the meat,  and it's always a trophey....poachers suck.
