Quick help with gun storage

I have a quick question about gun storage, long story short I have to make a storage box for some guns that a friend of mine has ( going out of town for awhile ) and I need to line it with something, was thinking about old t-shirts or towels. I have a big 8"x8" dehumidifying bag that came with my gun safe that I'll be throwing in there as well. My main concern is keeping everything rust free, so I guess my question is using old cotton shirts or towels going to attract moisture? just want to do this right so my buddys guns don't turn into rustcicles!

Go to just about any sporting goods store and get some gunsocks.  They will let the guns breath so hopfully they will not rust.  You can typically get a bag of 8 of them for about $30.

Are we talking weeks, months or years here? Anything short of years I would just wipe everything down with clp and swab the bores with it as well, leave everything damp with clp and put in your safe, with a dehumidifier you should be golden even for years with no more care than that.

the gun socks are a good idea, and yeah I'll defenetly be cleaning them up before I put them into the storage

if you can keep them in a warm dry place then just grab sme gun sox, oil up the metal.....not the wood and enjoy. if you could add a goldenrod to it it would be perfect.

yep oil them up and get some type of gun socks they are cheap and will work well for you.

I think the clothe is a bad idea. it will attract moisture. you need something that breathes. maybe packing peanuts?

gotta be in a box locked up for safety, got it done today and will be cleaning them before I store them, the packing peanuts is a good idea for keeping plenty of air and also incase it gets bumped around.
