Mt. Spokane Cow moose

Looks like my 82yr. old gramps pulled a cow moose tag this year. I plan on getting over there a few times this summer and get a good lay of the land. Just wondering if anyone out there might have some helpful information on this unit? It's gonna be a great time moose hunting here in washington, nice thing about a cow tag is that you don't have to worry about judging antlers.

It might help to go buy a permit to access Inland Empire Paper's property. They have tons of land in the Mt. Spokane unit. The largest chunk of their land is at Thompson Creek up behind Newman Lake. Then they have other various chunks of land spread through the unit. If I had the tag I would get an IEP permit and hunt their land. We have seen good numbers of moose while deer hunting on the Thompson creek property as well as the Blanchard property. I hope this helps and good luck to you and your grandpa.

Should be a really easy hunt there are a lot of moose up their, be sure to shoot her on the up hill side of the road  ;)

Thanks for the info. I just found the site for the IEP property, looks like they have a bunch of land to hunt on. True story on the shoot your moose uphill theory. No such thing  as a small moose.

I spent 5 days on the IEP land up Thompson Creek last year hunting deer in early Muzzy season. All 5 five days at least 2 moose seen every day. They are everywhere. If you search the forum I think their was a good bit of success last year by tag holders.
