Chiwawa Late Tag
« on: June 28, 2010, 04:42:01 PM »
Finally after nine years I got a good tag.  I drew one of two late muzzleload tags for the Chiwawa unit. Have any of you drew a tag in this unit before? If so lets see some pics of some nice bucks from this unit.

What are the dates on this tag?  I grew up in the area.  Have a big one over the fireplace.

Do a search for a thread for jbar's wife's archery deer from last year. She shot a dandy. Advice from him would be pack chain's, a few bags of sand and a shovel. A winch on the truck would be nice also.

Congratulations!  Awesome tag.  Like someone said, you'll want chains for all four tires.

The timing is awesome.

:yeah: I would bring 2 shovels and a change of underwear! Some of the roads up there have a 10 power pucker factor if there is any snow. We'd seen some real pigs up there during the hunt but the wife did OK! Good luck!
Shut up and Hunt!

Drew the rifle tag in 03.  There are some big bucks that move in, but overall, I think the big buck populations are dwindling in there as well as the bordering units.   :twocents:  Good luck. :)

Seen some bruisers last year during the rifle hunt. All i can say is don't shoot the first four point you see.  Congrads on drawing a sweet tag.

Chains for all 4 is the best advice I've seen.
Theres a few times we have driven in the ditch on purpose, that snow gets packed down in areas you can't see the bottom.  :yike:
