Ray, thank you for the kinds remarks. This shot is one of my favorite from this summer and has a great deal of sentimental value to me. I was blessed to spend a week with my best friend since high-school crawling around the wilderness of the PNW. This was only the third time we've been able to get to adventure together since we graduated in '97. It was good for the soul in ways word can't describe.

Steve, thanks for the nod. I really enjoy playing with non-typical, contrasty lighting tones, especially in monochromes. Do you still do B&W pieces? I'd love to see some. We should start a thread for those shots.

No Decker.. I gave up the shutter bug hobbie about 25 years ago.  Oh the days of D76 in the dark room.. Kept the sinus's clear and the mind .. Uh, well, creative. (on the other hand, I probably kilt more brain cells that way than I did with other extra curicular activity.)

Here is my submission.

This one was taken on a hike/hunt up to the Puyallup Ridge Fire Lookout late last September or early October. I loved how the trees framed the mountain in.

This picture was in the same general area about 300' lower at 4300' and a few miles away. I liked how the pine cones on these trees stood out.

It's hard to decide what to even enter this month, here's my first entry taken last September from Mt St Helen's.

Awesome picture.

Probably not a winner, but one of my favorite photos ever.  Wife took the Picture last fall when we were scouting for deer season.  This was my daughters first trip.....We hiked a few ridges that day and my daughter talked the whole way.  Not a good way to find animals, but still fun.
You can't beat the time spent with your kids.
