I was ask to post a review of this tent.
Well I finally got to use the tent.N.E Washington dirt bike trip.Rained at night and overcast in the day.Mid 60's to the Lows in the Low 50's.
Putting up the tent was as simple as it could get.
The tent material was real nice and the storage bags were big enough to reuse after unfolding it.The stakes are heavy duty.The extra removal floor made for a super quick clean up prior to taking the tent down.

I am very pleased with the room this 12x12 tent had and the head room was great..

Any complaints about the center pole?

No the tent is large enough to where it isnt even noticed.
On the outside up on the tip it has a loop to where a Guy can attach a cord and pull it up without using the center pole..
Thats cool if the place You happen to be camping has a tree.. :dunno:If not use the pole..
Im back on the road again this weekend and will keep everyone posted.I will try and use the cord to pull the tent up with this time..But I will take the pole just in case I dont have a tree.

I have the same tent.  A lot of room and features for the price of the tent and the tent weight. I think it is a decent tent for the money. I treated mine with nikwaxx.  Good in wet weather and pretty easy to set up. Lots of guide lines and easy to trip on especially at night when walking by the tent after a few beers. I have read about problems with the zipper in the main doorway  getting hung up in the fabric by the zipper. I took a pair of scissors and trimmed the fabric. No hang-ups. I like tents you can stand up in. I have not yet camped in mine in really cold weather. Plan on using it for late season steelhead season this year on the Grande Ronde.

I have read some guys put stoves in their tents. I am looking into this or I might try a heater buddy.

I have a Mr Buddy heater that will rock that tent.I havent had any problem with the zipper.I also did read that was a problem and that they had addressed that issue.I like the removable floor liner.I think I will be styling when I see Skyvalleyhunter up at grouse camp..It gets real cold the first of September up there..

What about wind? With the single pole design it seems that it wouldn't stand up to well to decent wind.

They said the tent with stands wind very well.Up on the top where the pole nestles they have put provisions there for additional lanyards to stabilize the center pole.I only just used it for 3 days last weekend but We didnt have any wind.On the Cabela's websight there are some 160 reviews I did read most of them.Very few negitives..People wanting it to set itself up and stuff like that.

This Guy says He has been tent camping for some 54 years.
It is well constructed and holds up to wind and rain better than any other tent I have owned.

Another 1 wrote.
"I chose this tent because it is simple and reminds my of my old Pyramid, which was easy to set up and stood up to terrible storms.
Well the Outback Lodge is just as easy to set up, stood up to some nasty thunderstorms and high winds. Shed rain and ventilated well.

Well from what Im reading everyone gives it 5 stars and most all talk about some sort of concern with wind.If I cant get into any wind this fall Im sure to get into over in Oddessa for next Desert 100..This past Year all of Our standard dome tents blew down flat to the ground..It was bad..We will see how it does.


All I know is Im loving it as of now.

Your tent will definately kick mines ass any day. I damn near chilled after I got rained snowed on grouse hunting up there last year. Congrats on a fine score!!

hey on that 12x12 is there room to put cots close to the walls?  I am thinking that this might be a good option for me (easy set up, good price and roomy)  I will be sitting it up for me and my hunting buddies by my self (at 8 and 9 they try but well....)

I have the 12x12, but was using a 10x10 that a buddy loaned me for a wintery hunt, stood up just fine...

I've also used it in high country (6000ft) where it was WINDY and it held fine...tho I cheat on the stakes and get 14" soil nails.  the center pole is no problem, its OK in the 10x10 and will be even less of an issue in the 12x12.

room enough for a decent size airbed and a few chairs.

The cool thing about this tent is the sidewalls.It allows the cots to be placed tight against the wall and that opens up mass space..The tent will hold 3 cots no problem plus all the gear..It has been a nice tent I can set it up by myself in less than 15 minutes..
They offer a removeable floor and I would say get it.Its nice to keep the dirt on a replaceable floor instead of the permanent floor.

I would buy the cam cots...I have them and they stack like bunk beds.  The lower one sits about 8 inches off the ground and the top one sits about 3 feet up. that's what my 9 and 10 y/o use

The Kids have blown so many zippers out of My tents that they arent allowed to even look at the zipper on this tent.
This is My tent so when I fly east to go hunting I have a tent with a zipper.
Seriously they have nuked so many tents We now have 2 of the coleman tents with the hinged doors..They work great..
No need to zip..The Kids cant screw these up..Yet
