San Francisco May Ban Pet Sales, Except for Fish
Thursday, July 08, 2010
By Staff

(CNSNews.com) - A proposed San Francisco ordinance, which could be approved Thursday night, would ban the sale of all pets except fish, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

"People buy small animals all the time as an impulse buy, don't know what they're getting into, and the animals end up at the shelter and often are euthanized," said Sally Stephens, who chairs the city’s Commission of Animal Control and Welfare. "That's what we'd like to stop."

If the measure passes, would-be pet owners in San Francisco would have to go to another city, adopt a pet from a shelter or rescue group, or find one through the classifieds, the newspaper reported.

.................................................................................................

So....the way I see it is if you buy a pet from another city you are more responsible? :dunno:
