Piebald Deer pics
« on: July 13, 2010, 08:52:53 PM »
Been trying to figure out how to post these for a month.  They were too big.  Hopefully this works.  They were about a mile from my parents' house in MI.  I saw them 5-6 times in 2 weeks while I was visiting in June.  Pretty cool.  Sorry about the pic quality.  They are wild deer but they have been hanging real close to the houses around this area.  Last year's fawns.  Poor things don't have a chance!

I don't know that white one will probably have a pretty good chance if he keeps standing next to that fence.  :chuckle:

Looks like a little buck and doe.

I just talked to my dad and the one with more brown is now a 4 pt (2x2).  I guess all the people around there have a pact to let them grow a couple years atleast.  They are staying on private property so they should have a chance if no one poaches them.

Those are cool! I used to see a few of those between Issaquah and Preston about 10 years ago.

I didn't notice it before but it's tail does look longer than normal.  I wonder if it's just an illusion because of the tail being all white.

Patton,
we have quite a few here on the Island also.  Saw a completely white one a month or two ago... posted the pics on here somwhere.  Cool pics!  Yes that tail does look long.

Yes, I noticed that too.

Piebalds are known for having deformations.  Some include short legs, long necks, long or short faces.  I see a few of these in both deer.  I believe they can also develop health problems.
