Limited production rifles

what do you guys think about keeping guns for a collector. I am in a pickle with one right now. I am hoping for some input on this. I am not a collector so I guess that is why i am having a hard time with this.

wether to shoot it or not. I was told once you shoot it the gun will loose value.

So, it's your gun and you feel it is a collector item? Most collectors guns have been shot. Not sure what the issue is, please go on with your explanation

If your not a collector then what's the deal?

Would it be any fun to own a Ferrari or Lamborgini and not drive it or go fast in it.

If you dated Demi Moore would you not want to hit it?

Do you buy beer to put in the fridge just to look at?

If you got the gun, your not a serious collector, at least see how it shoots.

well to start i did not know that i was buying a limited production rifle to start with. Later on in the process of bidding i found out that remington made only 400 of them. I was originally buying the gun because i liked it and thought it would be a good caliber to add to my arsenal. I knew it was different because i have never seen one like it at the time. Like i said before i was not looking to buy a gun that is a collector. It is not an old gun( made in 2002 or so) so remington still does not recognize it as a collector yet but i would assume that it will be since it books out at a substantial amount of money. Just looking for opinions. I guess the main problem is that i want to shoot it so bad i can taste it, but on the other hand i dont want to make a mistake.

Shoot it then, take good care of, don't abuse it. It will still be of value as long as you treat it well.

this is killing me. I cant figure out why though. It's not like i will ever make a fortune with it but it such a great looking gun and when i say great i mean great i would feel so bad if i ever put a scatch on it.

Doggone it, you have me drooling over this rifle and it just dawned on me that you haven't told us the model or caliber. Pony up man, I gotta know.

Boing !!! Man that's pretty, but I would have to break it's cherry and draw some blood especially with that caliber.

Thank you, that is one suuweeet piece. I hope you decide to shoot it. I don't think you'll ever regret it. There is a possibility for you to purchase another  stock for when you take it to the range or hunting. Keep the fancy one for show and tell. You owe it to yourself to feel that stock against your cheek as you pull the trigger at least once.
