Purchased a Canon XTI SLR
« on: March 08, 2008, 07:08:14 AM »
Just purchased my first SLR last week and it finally arrived, maybe now I can take some decent photos.  Truth be told the camera is actually for my wife, put I imagine ill probably put the most miles on it.  Smokepole you are going to have to give us a class on how to use it.  Hopefully I post some pictures soon, of my up and coming photography skills.

Bearhunter, that is an awesome camera you have there.  Give the old camera to your wife, and keep the xti in your pack.  (don't tell her I said that)

Just so you know, the camera is just part of the equation.  You'll need to invest in some good glass.  When you get ready for that, let me know.  The camera can only see what it's looking through.  Just like binos and spotting scopes, good lenses are most important.  Even more important than the camera body.

Did you get a kit lens with it?

Just got the stock lens.  Im in LA right now working, talked to her last night she said she wants and new lens, it doesnt focus close enough.  Well have to talk when I get back about what lens to buy?  Been sailboating?
